A very fine Silver Brooch dating from 1913. Decorated with the Inscription "NEGLECT NOT THE GIFT THAT IS IN THEE" which is a quotation from 1 Timothy 4:14.
The central section is decorated in blue/green enamel typical of the Art Nouveau period; in the centre is a further inscription: CATH
Its made by the renowned silversmith, William Hair Haseler (1821-1909), whose firm worked in partnership with Liberty & Co producing much of the design work of Archibald Knox. Carries a full set of sterling silver hallmarks for Birmingham, 1913 together with the makers mark: WHH
It measures 4 by 2 cm and weighs 8 gm.
In excellent condition without any damage to the enamel and some minor residual tarnishing of the silver
