This is a beautiful large antique romantic platter by William Ridgeway circa 1835-1840, in the Tyrolean pattern, showing a couple on the hillside with goats, a background of trees and castles behind a lake. The border of the platter is scalloped, surrounded with flowers as you can see in the pictures. The platter dimensions are 13 inches long and 10 1/2 inches wide. Condition is excellent with no chips cracks or repairs but noted some superficial scratches in the center that can only be seen under a off set light. The reverse side of the platter has the logo of William Ridgeway with the large Urn surrounded with flowers with an anchor, WR initials under the Urn and a banner stating Tyrolean.
