This is a Victorian Trinket or powder container used on a dresser during the late 1800's. Many of these containers may be found in different soft colors with painted flowers and swirls on the top and bottom highlighted in soft pastel colors. This particular container swirls are found in a soft pale yellow with the flowers on the top painted in a pale pink with soft green leaves. The top and bottom is connected with a gold finished trim that shows some tarnish but the hinge on the front and back are working perfectly. I have taken into consideration the tarnish on this piece when pricing. This would look beautiful on anyone dresser or vanity as I could find no cracks or chips on this piece nor could I find any identifying marks or name as different companies made this kind of container so it is anyone guess as to the maker, although it looks like Wave crest.
