This is a beautiful oil painting by E.D Holmes which appears to be near a cove or bay in Ireland. The beautiful detail work in the flowers and thatched roofs are clearly defined, which makes you want to knock on the door to have some afternoon tea! He has really captured the area, and if you have ever been to Ireland you would agree. The cliffs on the right of the painting also has the gulls flying along with the water foam after hitting the cliffs. I must say the frame is very plain and doesn't add nor distract from this painting. There is a white mark in the sky just to the right of the cliffs and also on the outer edge of the roof of the house closest to the water, but either of these distracts from the painting. Enjoy!
