This listing is for a nice example of German WMF Myra Kristall blue iridescent miniature vase, c. 1925-1936. The vase has vivid blue iridescent tones in the glass and was created by WMF in Germany to rival but not to copy the Art Glass being produced during this period by Tiffany, Steuben and Loetz.
Although this vase bears the "Aurene" engraved signature of Frederick Carder's art glass produced for Steube, the signature was obviously added and is incorrect. This glass technique named MYRA Kristall was developed by WMF in 1925 and produced with both free-form and mouth blown glass with strong iridescence on the surface. Most commonly found in gold or amber/gold iridescent glass, pieces are rarely found in green, blue or red iridescent glass. All WMF glass was unsigned and marked with a WMF paper label which can be ocassionally found on glass today. WMF Myra Kristall iridescent art glass was produced until 1936.
Dimensions: 4 1/4" high with a top diameter of 4 3/4".
Condition: Vase is in excellent Estate condition with no chips, cracks or repairs reflecting only minimal signs of normal wear.
