This listing is for a beautiful 19th Century MEIJI PERIOD (1868-1912) Japanese KYOTO SATSUMA porcelain enamel and gilt decorated 7" vase, signed, c. 1880-1900. This is a Museum quality Satsuma vase painted with polychrome enamels and gilding. The vase has rounded shoulders, gilt side rings with foo dog head supports and gilt trim. The upper rim and shoulder are decorated with multiple colors and assorted geometric patterns. The vase is beautifully decorated with fine intricate details featuring one large scenic panel with groups of women on one side and numerous pictorial medallions on sides and reverse.
Unidentified Japanese script mark on base.
Dimensions: 7" high with a top diameter of 1 3/8", the maximum width is 4 1/2" and the base is 2 3/8" in diameter.
Condition: Vase is in excellent Estate condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The enameling is also in excellent condition and the gilding is superb with no rubbing or loss.
