This listing is for a STUNNING Wheeling Peach Blow Art Glass stick vase, c. 1886-1890. I wish our photos could do justice to the extraordinary color of this vase which shades from a rich mahogany/cherry red at the top to custard or at the base which is complimented by its white opaque cased glass interior and glossy finish on the exterior. The vase has a long slender neck with a bulbous body and the base has a factory ground polished pontil. A similar vase is pictured on page 126 of "The Collector's Encyclopedia of American Art Glass, Second Edition" by John A. Shuman III. Made by the Hobbs, Brockunier Glass Company in Wheeling, West Virginia. This was an expensive glass to make and was therefore made for only a very short period which contributes to its rarity and desirability.
Dimensions: 8 3/4" high, 3/4" neck and 3 3/4" wide.
Condition: Vase is in excellent Estate condition with no chips, cracks or repairs.
