This listing is for a lovely Mt. Washington CORALENE satin glass vase decorated with golden opalescent glass beads applied in a seaweed pattern, c. 1900. This nice vase has a satin finish with soft aqua/pale turquoise coloration at the top shading to the natural white of the glass on the lower body with an all-over decoration of tiny golden opalescent glass beads. Photos of Coralene art glass can be found on pages 58 and 100 of the reference book "The Collector's Encyclopedia of American Art Glass, Second Edition" by John A. Shuman III. Satin glass from this period is always unmarked, however, Coralene art glass was made by the Mt. Washington Glass Company of New Bedford MA who is considered to be one of America's premier Victorian Art Glass producers.
Dimensions: 4 1/2" high with a 2 3/8" diameter top, an overall width of about 4 1/4" and a base diameter of 2 1/2". Weighs 7.9 ounces.
Condition: This pretty vase is in excellent Estate condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The Coralene beading is in very good to excellent condition with only a few very insignificant missing beads in the seaweed design.
