This listing is for a beautiful Steuben Carder Era AURENE gold iridescent Art Glass pedestal base salt cellar, Style #2653, c. 1900. This item has vibrant gold iridescence with highlights of silver, blue and purple. The salt cellar is hand engraved Aurene twice and the style number is illegible. Frederick Carder's "Aurene" glass made for Steuben was produced during the same period as Tiffany's "Favrile" glass which was patented by Louis Comfort Tiffany in 1894. Both companies set the standard for iridescent glass at the turn of the 20th Century.
Dimensions: 1 1/2" high, the top opening is 2 1/2" in diameter and the base is 1 3/8" in diameter.
Condition: This nice salt cellar is in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws.
