This listing is for a gorgeous 19th Century French hallmarked Sterling Silver chocolate pot with embossed decoration. The pot is decorated with a band around the flat part of the top and on upper body below opening that features a ribbed design embellished with evenly spaced "x" designs. There is embossed decoration on top and bottom of mouth and around silver handle attachment. The finial has a stylized flower shape and is hinged to allow insertion of wooden stir stick through the top opening. Pot has original carved wooden handle with natural finish. Pot is marked with three separated illegible hallmarks below the top opening of the pot and another on the bottom rim of the lid. Although the marks are illegible, we guaranteed this pot to be solid silver as described and of Sterling quality (is most likely 950/1000) French silver.
Dimensions: 8 3/4" high with a 3 3/8" diameter base and 4 1/4" long handle.
Condition: This stunning chocolate pot is in extremely fine Estate condition with no noted flaws and reflecting only minimal signs of normal wear.
