This large French Art Glass dresser box features a frosted acid textured background with molded cameo style green flowers with gold highlights standing in relief, c. 1890-1900. This type glass was molded and not carved with the desire to simulate and compete with the popular and more expensive process of true cameo glass. The lid has a heavily embossed floral design with a gold washed or gilded interior. Box has a hinged lid with tight hinge and the box opens and closes correctly. Marked with factory trademark stamp "V S" with a ship in between the gold letters used by the Verrerie de Sevres factory in France beginning in 1885. The factory later became Christalleries de Sevres et Clichy Reunis. At the end of the 19th century and into the early 20th century, the company produced high quality art glass inspired by the Art Nouveau movement.
