This listing is for a fabulous original Austrian bronze of two embracing dancers made by listed artist Peter Tereszczuk. The female dancer is wearing a short ruffled skirt and the male is wearing formal attire with "tails" with couple standing on a flat sided heart mounted onto a wide oval green onyx base. The figures have lovely white carved faces with detailed features. The bronze is marked on the bottom edge "P. Tereszczuk, Made in Austria". Peter Tereszczuk (1875-1963) was a famed bronze artist born in the Ukraine but living most of his life in Austria. Most of his best work was done during the period 1895-1925 in Austria. His work is highly collected and often brings extremely high prices when offered for sale. There seems to be some confusion regarding his name as he is sometimes referred to as Paul rather than Peter.
Dimensions: Bronze measures just over 7" high with an overall height of approximately 8" (including tray). The onyx tray measures 10" long, 6" wide and 5/8" high. Weighs 4 pounds.
Condition: Both the bronze and the onyx tray/stand are in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws other than a few very minor nicks in the onyx from normal wear and the inclusions that are normally found in the structure of onyx.
