This listing is for a nice Victorian Period Staffordshire pottery flat-back figurine of a young couple, c. 1880's. The young woman carries a sheaf of wheat on her head and the young man has a jug in his left hand. Pottery has vent hole in back.
Dimensions: 12 1/4" high, 7 1/2" wide and 2 3/4" deep (at base). Weighs 3 pounds.
Condition: This figurine is in very good Estate condition for early Staffordshire with no major chips, cracks or repairs. There is a no-harm stress crack on the back of the girls head and normal chipping to the paint and wear to the gilding. The faces have nicely painted features and are in excellent condition.
