This listing is for a gorgeous Tiffany Favrile gold iridescent Art Glass compote/tazza, c. 1900. This nice compote has vibrant gold iridescence with highlights of purple and blue. The upper edge of the compote has an onionskin texture with the rim having a finely irregular rim rather than being smooth to the touch. The compote sits on a low, knobby stem with a wide base. This compote is much more beautiful than our photos do justice. Marked on the base "L C Tiffany Favrile". Favrile art glass was patented by Louis Comfort Tiffany in 1894 and along with Frederick Carder's Aurene glass made for Steuben, this glass set the highest standard for iridescent glass at the turn of the 20th Century.
Dimensions: 4 1/4" high with an 8" diameter top and 3 3/4" diameter base. Weighs 1.3 pounds.
Condition: This lovely compote is in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws and reflecting minimal signs of normal wear.
