This listing is for a STUNNING Moser enameled ewer with an applied dolphin handle. The glass is a smokey topaz or amber color with the handle having a peach cast to the smokey glass. This ewer has the shape of a lemonade pitcher as it has a long slender neck with a rounded base. The neck portion of the ewer is decorated with an enameled design with swags of foliage in a lovely teal color and the base is decorated with foliage enameled in shades of green and teal. There are also six large prunts with white enameled jewels surrounding the widest part of the bottom section. The ring between the upper and lower section of the ewer is also decorated with enamel jewels. The dolphin handle has delicately molded fish scales and the dolphin has a stylistic head. The interior of the ewer is paneled or ribbed which is characteristic of Moser glass. Applied decorative animal and marine objects were done by both the Harrach and Moser decorators, however, due to the other characteristic Moser distinctions, we believe this piece to have been done by Moser. Either way, this is one gorgeous piece of quality Bohemian Art Glass from the 1880-1900 period.
Dimensions: 11 5/8" high with a 4" diameter base.
Condition: This lovely ewer is in excellent Estate condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. You will love this one!
Note: We have not taken extensive time searching for a signature as Moser pieces were often signed with a tiny "Moser" script signature that could be found mixed with the decoration anywhere on the glass, however, it is certainly possible that this piece could be signed. It is definitely a quality and unique piece of decorative glass from this period and would certainly be a fabulous addition to any Moser collection!
