This listing is for a beautiful MEIJI PERIOD (1868-1912) Japanese Satsuma porcelain enamel decorated and gilded vase in the 1000 FACES motif painted with polychrome enamels and gold. The vase has a square, paneled body with rounded shoulders and gilt decorated edges and upper rim. The enameling is beautifully applied with fine intricate details featuring large scenic panels with groups of men and colorful floral borders. Signed in Japanese script on base.
Dimensions: 8 1/2" high with a top diameter of 2 3/4", a maximum width of 4 1/4" and the base is 3" in diameter.
Condition: Vase is in excellent Estate condition with no chips, cracks or repairs.
