This listing is for GORGEOUS George III English Sterling Silver coffee pot dated 1777. The pot has a pear shape with chased floral and scroll decoration. The lid is hinged with a tight hinge and the lid opens and closes properly. No monograms. Pot is hallmarked for London, Sterling with date letter for 1777 and maker's stamp for John King. The base of pot has the faint remains of a presentation inscription.
Dimensions: 10 1/2" high, 9" wide (spout to handle) with a 4 1/4" diameter base. Weighs 870 grams.
Condition: This beautiful pot is in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws reflecting only minimal signs of normal wear. The carved wooden handle is unstained and may have been a later addition.
