This nice pair of 19th Century Meiji Period Japanese Satsuma porcelain miniature vases are beautifully hand painted with polychrome enamels embellished with gold. A medallion on the front of each vase features a royal family scene with attendants and the reverse features elders having halos and carrying musical instruments. The vases are further decorated with an intricate pattern between the medallions and on the upper and lower body. Each vase is marked with unidentified hand painted calligraphy signature stamp on base.
Dimensions: 4.5" high with a top diameter of 1", base diameter of 1 3/8" and maximum width of 2 1/4".
Condition: Both vases are in excellent Estate condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The enameling and gilding are also in excellent condition reflecting only minimal signs of normal wear.
