Mont Joye produced this type Art Glass in a factory near Paris, France during the 1890-1910 period when they were a division of Legras. The jug has beautiful vivid coloration in the glass which has an acid finish giving the glass a chipped ice textured background and is further decorated with a heavily applied gilt enamel floral design. The mounts are embossed gilded silver plate in an Art Nouveau design with raised scrolls and pierced work that includes a high spout with fancy lid lever.
Dimensions: 6 3/4" high, 5 1/2" wide and about 3" deep. Base measures 2 5/8" long and 2" wide. Weighs 1.5 pounds.
Condition: This wonderful jug is in excellent Estate condition with no chips, cracks or repairs reflecting only minor wear to the gilded silver from normal handling.
