This listing is for a nice set of eight (8) Gorham Durgin Sterling Silver nut dishes/place card holders in the LILY PAD LEAF pattern, # 5 B. These beautiful silver dishes have a leaf shape and texture with a delicately scalloped upper edge and a fancy figure eight design on the end which functions as a place card holder with a slot on the underside to hold card. They are marked on the back with the Durgin trademark stamp and "Gorham, Sterling, 5 B".
Dimensions: 5/8" high (to top of nut dish), 3/4" high (to top of handle), 3 7/8" long and 3" wide. Combined weight is 245 grams.
Condition: Each of these pretty nut dishes are in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws reflecting minimal signs of normal wear.
The William B. Durgin Co. was in business in Concord NH from 1853-1931. In 1931 the company moved to Providence RI and merged with Gorham. Gorham produced using the Durgin name through 1940.
