This listing is for a nice 19th Century Victorian Period ruby cut-to-clear cased glass miniature oil lamp with original burner. This lovely miniature lamp has rich cranberry coloration in the glass cut in two bands in a block pattern with squares cut with hobstars above, in between and below the cranberry bands. The lamp is complete with original red flashed glass burner and lamp could be used, if desired. This miniature lamp was purchased from the estate of a Georgia collector and was originally purchased from M. S. Rau Antiques in New Orleans and the original Rau label with price of $785.00 remains on the bottom of lamp.
Dimensions: 8 1/2" high (with hurricane inserted), 3 3/4" high to top of glass base and 2 5/8" in diameter (at base). Weighs 15 ounces.
Condition: The lamp base is in very good to excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws, however, the original hurricane is flashed glass and there is wear to the red coating (see photos). A clear glass hurricane could be substituted with an excellent appearance.
