This STUNNING atomizer perfume bottle was made by Hawkes for DeVilbiss , c. 1910-20. The main portion of the body has a gilt encrusted "chipped ice" textured background applied over a cranberry colored interior glass body. The gilding is in excellent condition and covers the background with a thick cover. The design of the brass fittings is definitely characteristic of the Art Deco period. DeVilbiss did not make their own glass so the body of the bottle was most likely made by Hawkes, however, Steuben was also known to make bottles for DeVilbiss. This bottle is exceptional in every respect and comes with its original hang tag that reads "DeVilbiss Perfumer, The Perfect Spray" and is signed "DeVilbiss" on the base in gold script.
Dimensions: 10" high with a 3 1/2" base diameter.
Condition: The gilded brass fittings are all original and have a nicely aged original patina. The atomizer cord and bulb are missing, however, these can be easily replaced with appropriate styles. This impressive bottle is in excellent Estate condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. With the exception of the missing atomizer cord, all parts are intact and appear to be original to the bottle.
