This gorgeous S. Kirk & Son Sterling Silver 3-piece hot water kettle on stand was made in the beautiful hand-chased Repousse floral design created in 1828.  The stand is chased with matching pattern to the kettle which sits fitted into the elaborate stand that sits high above the burner. The stand sits on four ornately decorated paw feet. The burner is also marked Sterling Silver and is original to the stand. Marked  "S. Kirk & Son Co., 925/1000" and "101C" on the base of the kettle. This mark was used from 1896-1924. Group consists of the following three pieces with a combined weight of 1875 grams.

(1) Hot Water Kettle - measures 9" high, 9 1/2" wide, 6 1/2" deep (not including the protruding pieces that sit on the stand)
with a 3 3/4" diameter base. Weighs 990 grams.

(2) Kettle Stand - measures 6 1/4" high (to top of kettle supports), 7 3/4" wide with a 6 1/4" diameter base. Weighs 695
grams.

Please note that we also have a coordinating Sterling Silver 3-piece Repousse coffee/tea set and a 30.5" silver plated tray that were used together with this kettle to make a very impressive service by the previous owner. Should you be interested in these pieces, please inquire. We also have several other Repousse serving pieces available

The iconic Repousse pattern by S. Kirk & Son made its debut in 1828 making it the oldest Sterling Silver pattern produced in the United States where its remained to this day as one of the most popular patterns ever created. To create this pattern, the Philadelphia trained silversmith Samuel Kirk revived an ancient technique known as "repousse" to create an embossed design that is both versatile and instantly recognized.
