This listing is for an impressive antique Meiji Period Japanese Satsuma porcelain gilt and enameled cylinder vase, c. 1868-1912. The vase is hand painted with colorful polychrome enamels with two main medallions - one with a scene with figures and the other with a large bird decorating the reverse. The entire exterior of the vase is covered with multi-designs and is embellished with elaborate gilt accents. There is red painted unidentified calligraphy writing on the bottom.
Dimensions: 8 1/4" high with a top diameter of 3 3/4. Weighs 1.13 pounds.
Condition: This lovely vase is in excellent Estate condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The enameling and gilding are bright with no rubbing and minimal, if any, signs of wear.
