This listing is for a stunning 19th Century 14 K yellow gold double locket/pendant decorated with pearls* and cobalt enamel.
At the top of the pendant is a large fancy Fluer-de-Lis shaped bail with cobalt enameled accents. The pendant has an elegantly embossed design on front in relief with five large pearls in the center with five smaller pearls above, below and on both sides. Both sides are identically decorated and pendant has a round embossed outer border with cobalt enamel decoration and a bright gilded interior. Appears to have tiny illegible hallmarks on interior. No other stamps found, however, gold tests to be 14 Karat.
Dimensions: 2 1/4" long (including bail), 1 1/2" wide and 7/8" deep. Weighs 40 grams.
Condition: This fabulous locket is in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws.
* Please note that although we believe this pendant to be mounted with natural pearls, we are labeling the pearls as cultured as we have no definitive proof of this distinction.
