This unusual Sterling Silver salad serving piece was made by Gorham in the PARIS pattern issued in 1900. Designed by Florentin Heller, this highly embossed design features a full-figured cherub on each side of handle end and a man sitting in a tree below the large unused cartouche. The 3-prong fork-shaped bowl has a pierced design and is gold washed. The back of the handle is also beautifully decorated down onto the back of the bowl area. Marked with the Gorham trademark stamp and "Sterling, Pat. 1901".
Dimensions: 8 3/4" long and 2 1/2" wide (at bowl). Weighs 95 grams.
Condition: Silver is in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws reflecting only minimal signs of normal wear. There is one tiny rough spot on the lower edge of the curve of one of the tines that is not noticed but can be felt upon close inspection.
