Unusual French Palais Royal novelty souvenir inkwell with porcelain tray mounted on ormolu brass stand from the Grand Tour era, c. 1870's-1880's. The stand is elaborately decorated with acorn and leaves and inkwell is mounted into fitted pierced decorated holder on top. Glass inkwell has a panel cut round body most likely made by Baccarat. The removable inkwell cover is attached by a small chain for security. The brass stand is mounted onto a round aged white onyx or marble base.
Dimensions: 4 1/4" high and 3 1/4" in diameter (at porcelain tray) with a 3 1/8" diameter base.
Condition: Glass inkwell and porcelain tray are in excellent condition with no noted flaws. The brass stand reflects normal aged patina otherwise in excellent condition. White marble base also has aged coloration but no chips or cracks.
