19th C. French Palais Royal brass ormolu ladies pocket watch holder and mother-of-pearl egg shaped jewelry box stand from the Grand Tour era, c. 1870-80's. At the top is a hook above a velvet backed medallion where a ladies pocket watch would hang when not being worn. The mother-of-pearl jewelry box has a good hinge and the box opens and closes correctly. The brass stand is mounted on a white alabaster or marble base.
Dimensions: 6" high with the base measuring 4 1/4" wide by 2 1/2" deep.
Condition: The mother of pearl box is in excellent condition with no flaws. The velvet backing of the pocket watch stand appears to be original to the stand and reflects expected wear. The brass stand has naturally aged patina and the only noted flaw is the front right (facing) leaf above the base has been cracked and repaired. Marble base has aged coloration with no noted chips.
