This lovely Satsuma plate is hand painted with polychrome enamels and gold accents and is a fine quality example from the Meiji Period (1868-1912). The interior has intricate details featuring two large scenes with groups of women and children with landscape background. Plate has a raised and scalloped upper rim and enameled decoration on exterior. Marked with unidentified maker's mark on base.
Dimensions: 3/4" high and 6" in diameter.
Condition: Plate is in excellent Estate condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The enameling is also in great condition although there is minor rubbing to the gilded outer edge.
