This listing is for a gorgeous set of six 19th Century Japanese Arita porcelain 8" cabinet plates. Plates have hand enameled decoration with fine details and feature a fan motif with each fan having a different pattern. Background fan on upper body has gilded panels with birds and the top white fan on each features people doing different outdoor activities with a landscape background. The lower fans feature different landscape and floral scenes. Each plate has beautiful coloration in the enameling with gilt decoration. The plates are signed in red enamel with unidentified Japanese calligraphy.
Dimensions: 7 3/4" in diameter and 1" high. Combined weight 3.14 pounds.
Condition: The plates are in excellent Estate condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. There are a couple of the plates that have minor rubbing to the gilding and faint rubbing in the enamel decoration.
