This listing is for a 19th Century Rosewood fitted double tea caddy with three heavy engraved brass bands decorating the dome shaped top mounted with iron studs. The interior of the box has a two tea caddy divided compartments with fitted lids. Each of the tea compartments has some original foil lining remaining. The hinges of the box and the locking mechanisms are in good shape with the box opening and closing correctly. Sorry, we do not have the original key.
Dimensions: 6" high, 9 1/4" long and 5" wide. Weighs 2.9 pounds.
Condition: This beautiful box is in very good Estate condition with the only noted flaw being a tight crack that extends from the right center front around to the right side. The box may have been refinished at some time but it the finish has been on the box a very long time. The brass bands have good patina although there are a couple of minor water spots (?) on the left top band. Overall condition is considered to be very good commensurate with age and normal wear.
