This listing is for an ornately decorated Dutch .835 Silver tea or water kettle on stand, c. last quarter 19th Century. This beautiful kettle has an intricate and elaborate all-over hand chased repousse design with cherubs, flowers, scrolls and small medallions in relief. Stand also has intricate openwork design that includes cornucopia with flowers and lion heads. Kettle has an eagle's beak spout and sits above three "paw" feet. Marked in several places with hallmarks for Netherlands/Dutch silver .835 purity. We are uncertain of the maker's stamp but believe it to be that of de Groot Boersma.
Dimensions: 10 1/2" tall and 6 1/2" wide. Weighs 740 grams or 23.78 oz T.
Condition: This is an exceptional kettle and is in excellent Estate condition. There is a very minor no-harm dent on one of the small round medallions (see photos). No other noted flaws.
