This listing is for a beautiful Carlton Ware English Art Pottery plate with Blue Royale coloration and decorated with two hand painted roosters (cocks) and peony plant and flowers. The colors are predominately green, turquoise and lavender with some bright orange accents with a Blue Royale background. The design features heavily applied gilt overlay with "beaded" embellishment. This pottery was produced from the early 1900's into the 1920's. Vase is marked with the Wiltshaw & Robinson, Stoke on Trent trademark stamp and "Carlton Ware" with another printed stamp with "Cock & Peony" below and English Registry stamp for 1918. Also marked with hand painted pattern number "0922".
Dimensions: 8 7/8" in diameter. Weighs 12 ounces.
Condition: This nice plate is in excellent Estate condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. There is a tiny pin-point popped bubble type production flaw on the gilded rim.
