This listing is for a lovely L. C. Tiffany Favrile gold iridescent Art Glass flower form compote. This nice compote has vibrant gold iridescence with highlights of purple and blue on stem and base and rich amber golden interior with lighter gold iridescent border. The lighter gold outer edge of the compote has an onionskin texture with the rim being softly scalloped. The compote sits on a low, knobby stem and wide base. Compote is unmarked, however, we are certain that it is authentic Tiffany Favrile glass. "Favrile" art glass was patented by Louis Comfort Tiffany in 1894 and along with Frederick Carder's Aurene glass made for Steuben, this glass set the highest standard for iridescent glass at the turn of the 20th Century.
Dimensions: 3 3/4" high with an 6 5/8" diameter top and 3 5/8" diameter base. Weighs 13.3 ounces.
Condition: The compote is in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws and reflecting minimal signs of normal wear.
