This listing is for a very nice 19th Century German sulphide marble with standing dog figure inside. Glass fluoresces under black light and has bottom pontil. Although these marbles were made as children's toys in the late 19th Century, the good sulphide marbles are becoming harder to find with the rare subject matter in the sulphide marbles commanding very high prices. My husband has been collecting marbles for the past 40 years and has finally agreed to let some of them go. This one is overly special if you are a dog lover!
Dimensions: 1 1/4" in diameter. Weighs 1.7 ounces.
Condition: Marble is in very good to excellent Estate condition with a couple of faint external bruises but no chips reflecting minimal signs of normal use.
