This vase is one of the largest and most unusual Sterling Silver overlay Art Glass vases you will find. This incredible vase has a thickly applied layer of silver overlaid on a heavy green glass body. The silver design covers almost the entire vase with embossed swirl designs floating throughout with the green glass showing through the design. Vase dates to the 1890-1910 period. Although we did not find the Sterling stamp on this vase, we do guarantee that this vase is Sterling Silver overlay. We believe it was made by Gorham, Alvin or one of the other prominent silver companies operating in the U.S. at the turn-of-the-20th Century.
Dimensions: 12" high with a 3 3/4" diameter top and 3 1/2" diameter base. Weighs 2 pounds.
Condition: The glass body of the vase is in excellent Estate condition and the Sterling Silver overlay on this fabulous vase also appears to be in excellent condition, however, upon close inspection you will notice that there is some silver within the designs that is missing. There are no rough edges and it is hard to determine the missing areas unless this is called to your attention. There is no other noted damage to the glass or the silver overlay. This is a very impressive example of this type Art Glass.
