This nice Japanese SATSUMA porcelain enameled vase is from the MEIJI Period (1868-1912). The vase is beautifully hand enameled with polychrome enamels featuring intricate details with colorful flowers, bamboo, waterfall and pheasant with gilded accents. Scalloped upper edge with gilt rim. Gilded stylized elephant side handles at top. Unidentified signature in Japanese script on base with MON mark.
Dimensions: 6" high with a top diameter of 2", a maximum width of 3" and a 1 1/2" diameter base.
Condition: Vase is in excellent Estate condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The enameling and gilding are also in excellent condition although there is minor rubbing to the gilded upper edge.
