This listing is for a gorgeous Tiffany Favrile Pastel Lavender opalescent Art Glass compote, c. 1900. This nice compote has a soft lavender/violet opalescent glass bowl with a clear glass stem with opalescent glass knob and bottom edge. There is also an unusual opalescent feather design within the glass bowl and an onionskin outer border with slightly textured rim. Most Tiffany pastel glass examples have the spoke pattern and this pattern is more scarce and therefore, is not as easily found. Glass is unmarked, however, it is guaranteed to be as represented. "Favrile" glass was patented by Louis Comfort Tiffany in 1894 and along with Frederick Carder's "Aurene" glass made for Steuben, this glass set the highest standard for iridescent/opalescent glass at the turn of the 20th Century.
Dimensions: 3 1/4" high with a 5 1/4" diameter top and 2 3/4" base diameter. Weighs 8.4 ounces.
Condition: This great compote is in excellent Estate condition with no chips, cracks or repairs.
