This listing is for a very nice 19th Century WEDGWOOD English MAJOLICA Art Pottery Match Holder with Striker. The holder/striker has a majolica glaze over a typical Wedgwood mottled coloration of cobalt blue, green and gold. There is a green band at the top and bottom of the cream colored top striker section. Base is marked with faint impressed "Wedgwood" Stamp. The Wedgwood Factory began making majolica in 1860 and discontinued production in 1910.
Dimensions: 3 1/4" high with a 4 7/8" diameter base. Weighs slightly over 1 pound.
Condition: This nice holder/striker is in excellent Estate condition with no damage or repairs. There is a small chip on the bottom edge that has a factory flaw as it is under the heavy glaze.
