This listing is for a beautiful Tiffany & Co. silver plated hot water kettle on stand. The kettle has an urn form with paneled lower body and upper lid with an attached silver and wood handle. The pot sits on a decorative stand with elongated side supports mounted onto a squared base with diagonal formed corners that sit on fancy paw feet. Comes with its original burner. The hinge at top is tight and the lid opens and closes correctly. Pot is engraved with a lovely 2-letter monogram "M G". Each piece is marked "Tiffany & Co. Makers, Silver Soldered E.P." with "W" below. This mark was used beginning in 1865 on their commercial production.
Dimensions: 11 1/2" high (as shown) with a 4 3/4" base (side to side). The pot measures 6" high to top of lid (not including finial), 8" wide (not including side supports) and 4 1/2" deep. Weighs 2.14 pounds.
Condition: This lovely pot makes an impressive appearance and is in good Estate condition. There are a couple of minor flaws to note. The spout on the pot is not correctly rounded on the bottom of the opening yet this can be easily reshaped by a professional restorer. We believe the handle would have originally been a swing handle, however, it currently does not move. It is stuck in a slightly crooked position not being level over the finial. The silver is in very good condition and will polish beautifully and reflects only minor signs of normal wear. The bottom of the kettle has burnt residue from using the burner that we have not tried to remove. The kettle is clean on the interior and this is a nice item that can be used.
