This antique Loetz OIL SPOT iridescent Art Glass miniature vase is beautifully embellished with turquoise and ruby glass cabochon jewels (gems) with elegant hand painted enameling around the neck or collar area in relief, c. 1900. Loetz was the premier Bohemian Art Glass manufacturer during the Art Nouveau Period from 1890-1920 and was most famous for their iridescent glass vases that rivaled both Steuben and Tiffany. Loetz produced very few petite (miniature) vases and they are considered especially rare with the applied Art Nouveau decoration.
Dimensions: 4 1/4" high with a top diameter of 7/8", maximum width is 2 3/8" and the base diameter is 1 3/8".
Condition: This unusual vase is in excellent Estate condition with no chips or cracks, however, it appears that the top may have been cut down. We believe It should have a slightly protruding neck above the gilded area. The cutting has been professionally done and displayed as a cabinet vase, this alteration will not be noticed. When we purchased the vase, this repair was unnoticed until we researched it and found a comparable vase in original condition.
