This listing is for a gorgeous Tiffany Favrile gold iridescent Art Glass compote/tazza. The compote has vibrant gold iridescence with highlights of purple around the upper rim with serving area having an unusual honeycomb pattern on underside. Compote sits on a low, knobby stem with wide base. This compote is much more beautiful than our photos do justice. Signed "L C Tiffany Favrile" with number on base. Signature is questionable as it is partially illegible but we do believe this is an original Tiffany Favrile compote. Favrile glass was patented by Louis Comfort Tiffany in 1894 and along with Frederick Carder's Aurene glass made for Steuben, this glass set the highest standard for iridescent glass at the turn of the 20th Century.
Dimensions: 4" high with a top diameter of 8" and base diameter of 4". Weighs 1.2 pounds.
Condition: Compote is in excellent Estate condition with no chips, cracks or repairs reflecting only minimal signs of normal wear.
