This listing is for a gorgeous early 20th Century Royal Rudolstadt large porcelain ewer with winged griffin handle. The ewer has a soft blush colored background decorated with a hand enameled floral design in lavender, yellow and rose colors. The neck area is decorated with vertical cut outs and there is a molded paneled design above the base. The floral design is embellished with gilding and the winged griffin's upper neck and wings are gilded with touches of gilding on the lower portion of the handle. This ewer has a similar appearance to Royal Worcester porcelain produced during this same period. Ewer is marked with the Royal Rudolstadt trademark stamp used from 1904-1924. The factory was established in 1720 in Thuringia, Germany and began producing hard paste porcelain items from 1852 until 1920 at which time the factory became part of Heubach Brothers.
Dimensions: 12" high with an overall width of 7 1/2" and 4" diameter base. Weighs 2.10 pounds.
Condition: This impressive ewer is in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws. There is minor no-harm wear to the gilding on the handle from normal handling otherwise the gilding and enameling are excellent.
