History: The Rothschild Bird pattern was created in 1860 for the Rothschild family of Europe and is considered by porcelain lovers to be the epitome of hand painting on porcelain. This pattern has been extremely popular since it was first created in 1860. Created for the famous Rothschild family of Europe, the pattern consists of 12 different motifs portraying a 19th Century tale about Baroness Rothschild. The story goes that she lost her pearl necklace in the garden of her Vienna residence. After several days, the necklace was found by her gardener who saw birds playing with it in a tree.
