The original design for this table mirror was done by Erté in 1930, at the height of the art deco period. It is titled “Vanity”. The polished bronze of the lights illuminates the beautiful woman as she applies her cosmetics. The stepped-up art deco pattern and imaginative use of combining bronze, mirror, brass, and Plexi glass together creates a wonderful work of art. This outstanding bronze sculpture can be placed any where in the home. The mirrored base will reflect the changing light from a window, or place it on the coffee table as a conversation starter. The best part is; this superb piece of art is a fully functional table mirror. However, you choose to use it, gazing upon it daily is sure to bring you joy.
The mirror base rotates 360° and the mirror itself can be adjusted 40-degrees to either side, allowing for the use of the mirrored surface or to just enjoy the bas relief. Signed Erte in bas-relief, marked 1985 RK Parker, Number 50 of 250. Overall, in excellent vintage condition with minimum imperfections consistent with age and use. The mirror on the base has some small scratches and there is some slight tarnishing of the brass (see photos).
Dimensions: The base measures 12-3/4” by 17-3/8”. The overall height is 11-3/4”.
