A great example of a grand tour bronze, with rich patina and fine detail. This excellent example of a grand tour bronze features a well dressed young man holding a bouquet of flowers for that special someone. The statue is signed Aug Moreau (Auguste Moreau (1834 - 1917)). French artist and designer Auguste Moreau is known for his outstanding filigree sculptures, figures and busts, that seem very natural and detailed, of which this is a good example.
This Bronze is in excellent antique condition. There do not appear to be any scratches to the statue or any loss of patina. The base does appear to have a crack in the white marble, but I believe it is a natural fissure in the marble and is in no danger of breaking. Please review all of the photos to make your own assessment of condition.
Dimensions: The bronze is approximately 18-3/4” in height, including the base, and approximately 8” across. The base is approximately 6-1/2” in diameter.
