Unger Brothers is synonymous with the finest quality art nouveau sterling silver jewelry. With its intricate design this beautiful large brooch is a great example of why Unger Brothers jewelry is still highly sought after today. The brooch prominently features a semi-profiled young woman with flowing hair. She is framed, top and bottom, with undulating lines, scrolls, and roses. The detailing on this piece is remarkable, right down to the pendant around the young woman’s neck.
The brooch is hallmarked with the Unger Brothers maker's mark of an intertwined "U" and “B,” surrounded by the words “Sterling 925 fine.” The brooch has not been polished, it is, in the condition in which it was found. It does have some dents to the back (please see photos), but in overall, in very good antique condition.
Dimensions: approximately 1-7/8” by 3” tall, and weighs approximately 24 grams.
