This Hilario Lopez repoussé clamper looks great on and is in very good condition. It looks light and airy and is surprisingly easy to wear.
It's originally a Margot de Taxco design and as one of her silversmiths, he was allowed to use certain molds after the closing of her shop in 1978.
The piece is 1 7/8" at the widest and tapers to 1" at the hinge. The inside measures 6.25", which makes it a small size. Marked HL, Sterling, 925, Taxco, Hecho en Mexico with eagle 3.
The hinge is very tight and rust free. There is a wee bit of a dent to the inside of the frame and a few scratches, which can be seen in one of the photos. These imperfections do not detract from the piece, which is otherwise in very good condition with a nice patina.
