A beautiful late 19th century 9ct gold insect themed brooch, c1890.
Stamped 9ct to side (though partially rubbed away with age); also jeweller tested.
In an oval, open setting, with a spider to the left side; allows for clothing colour of choice to be worn beneath the brooch.
The spider has a seed pearl head and gem stone body (unsure what stone is, may be paste).
Ball hinge, pin and 'c' catch.
Measurements: 34mm by 15mm.
