A fabulous pair, of large Victorian, woven human hair mourning earrings.
Most I have come across from the era have been much smaller than these; they are a real statement piece in wear.
The later hooks are stamped 925; the original mounts have not been tested and are silver coloured metal.
The mourning hair is a dark brown in colour, intricately woven, with circular silver metal base.
Measurements: 2.75" drop (from top of hooks), with an approx 0.7" width (some natural variation due to nature of material).
Some minor condition issues; one earring has a hole/small gap in hair just above base and both have some visible glue where circular mount has been applied & small number of stiffened stray hairs. Nothing to detract in wear and only visible under close scrutiny.

Great example for 19th century mourning jewellery collectors.
